Whereas western cultures look at Dragons as something to be slayed, easterners see a Dragon’s power as something to honor. I also try to relate to my Monstrous Dragons in the manner of the eastern cultures. Choose the name that works for you and the obstacle. ![]() Monsters and Dragons are similar scary obstacles, just in a different disguise. I myself shift between calling them Monsters and Dragons. Sometimes we give these skirmishes another name. Working to train your Baby Habit is a good way to get your Dragon training skills up to speed for a bigger Dragon like that conflict with an event or person in your life.ĭealing with Dragons is a lifelong adventure. The equation: Baby Dragon = Bad Habit = Baby Habit. A baby Dragon usually begins as a bad habit. Thus in Dragon Training 101 we start with hatchlings. ![]() You could start small, tackling a baby Dragon. Once you’ve catalogued your Dragons then you get to choose which Dragon to take on. Types of Dragons include (but aren’t limited to): +Fear Dragon +Angry Dragon +Jealous Dragon +Shame Dragon +Procrastination Dragonįirst you’ll look for a Fear Dragon, something you’ve been running awaaay from.Īn Angry Dragon is usually a smoldering resentment towards someone or something that has violated your boundaries.Ī Jealous Dragon is green with envy at something someone else has.Ī Shame Dragon is the hardest to find because it really doesn’t want to be seen.Īnd a Procrastination Dragon usually hides one or two of the above mentioned Dragons behind it as it tries to avoid an uncomfortable task. Then you get to observe and catalog them as we are doing now in our Dragon Training class. That is unless you are proactively taking a Dragon Training course. We all have quite a few Dragon but the good news is usually only one at a time lies in wait for us along our life path. You’ll find your Dragon in your forests the darker, more difficult to navigate areas of your life. First we find and observe our Dragons in the wilderness of our lives. This is where Dragon training comes into play. A Dragon is asking you to give up your comfort zone, to shift your engine out of idle and wrestle it into collaboration so that you can ride it into the next level of your life. That isn’t to make light of the seemingly life or death nature of some of these Dragon encounters. This obstacle be it an event (plot point)or a person (character) is lying right along your path and if you are willing to engage, it will give you a giant blast of power. Trouble is it doesn’t tell you that is what it is. A Dragon is an unlived potential that lies dormant along your path, ready to blaze forth into your life. We are rocket ships disguised as ordinary cars, quietly idly our thought, emotion, and physical engines when we could be blasting off to the moon.Īll this energy has to go somewhere. Our invisible mind, emotions, even our invisible physical energies (call chi or prana in ancient eastern cultures) are barely tapped. Dragon Training is the courageous task of unsticking and channeling that primal power into our life and the world. The equation looks like this: Dragons = Power.
